As a result the subject gained superhuman abilities, making them powerful soldiers in Earth’s war for freedom. The only problem was that the new metabolism was inherently incompatible with a human body, killing the subjects within a year. The Morituri process made life worth living for many who would receive it, but it was also a death sentence.
