The Blue Beetle is Ted Kord, a good-hearted man whose evil uncle murdered the original Blue Beetle ,Dan Garrett. As Garrett died, Kord swore to carry on the name. Although he had no super-powers, Kord trained his body to perfection, and used his technical wizardry to create a variety of devices, including “the Bug,” his flying vehicle.
Originally a Charlton comics character, DC bought the rights to the character.
