The New Mutants are teenage mutant superheroes-in-training. The New Mutants were created by Chris Claremont (long-time writer of Uncanny X-Men). They first appeared in Marvel Graphic Novel #4. The New Mutants highlighted interpersonal and group conflict and action and adventure. When this series ended, the heroes were relaunched in X-Force (1991 series).
