The samurai Shiro followed his kidnapped love, Yoshiko, across Asia and Europe, from feudal Japan to Paris and the mirrored halls of Versailles. Reunited briefly, the lovers were wrenched apart again by the treachery of a Spanish nobleman determined to possess Yoshiko. Now the Spaniard has fled, with Yoshiko his prisoner, and Shiro pursues, swearing vengeance. Their journey will take them to the Mediterranean, and finally to the sands of Egypt.
