Here, Swamp Thing discovers that he's not Alec Holland turned into a plant but rather he's a plant that thinks its Alec Holland, due to a weird chemical accident. He becomes the guardian of all plant life on Earth. The first 10 issues are reprinted in Roots of the Swamp Thing.
